Welcome to the leap-day edition of JavaFX links of the week! 🙂
- Gerrit Grunwald has two posts this week. Firstly, he has a post on building a multi gauge with Medusa. Secondly, he has created another of his ‘Friday Fun Components‘.
- Tom Eugelink has posted about building multiplatform JavaFX applications – in particular the ways he approached layout issues.
- Tobias Jonas has released JFXC, a library of JavaFX controls.
- Thomas Künneth has started work on a JavaFX application to make it easy to change default settings on OS X.
- Gluon has posted about some changes going on in the Java on mobile space.
Have you noticed that someone is trying to build a reference document for each JavaFX feature and each supported platform that can be used as a ready reference as to their implementation status and performance? They have posted about it a few times over the last few weeks but I haven’t seen any of those posts included in this weekly summary. Why is that?
Mark Hammond,
Yes, I am aware of this. You should be too – your IP address matches Felix Bembrick’s IP address.
How long do you take to moderate comments?
Do you intend to reject my post for some reason?
Mark
I chose to not reply given the fact that you are posting from Felix’s IP address, and I didn’t want to cause any embarrassment. Given the prompting, I have responded.
That is correct & there is no embarrassment. I am not Felix, just a colleague who is hoping to get you to finally include his link(s) in your next post.
Felix says he is happy that he and Oracle have “kissed and made up” although he did say that he has heard nothing from you for some time despite giving an unconditional apology. It was left to your superiors to apologise and thank Felix for what he (and the rest of of us here) are trying to do for JavaFX.
Something for you to think about perhaps…
As I have noted, I will link to posts that I personally find relevant. I am happy to have a conference call with Mark, Felix, and John to discuss this if you have any concerns with my approach.
And what would be the point?
I see no evidence to suggest you are going to budge 1cm on this issue.
Felix has decided after fruitful discussions with Victor that the matter is closed and hopes Bembrick Software Labs can work with Oracle, Gluon and the community to further the cause of JavaFX.
It just would have been helpful to include his blog post, but as you say, it’s *your* blog.
