Heaps of links – enjoy! 🙂
- Tom Schindl has posted that an update-site is available for the SWT on JavaFX project.
- Uwe Sander has posted about how he managed to get headless UI testing functioning in JavaFX 8u20 using Monocle.
- Speaking of Uwe, he also has a post about his fancy-chart library that combines JavaFX charts and TableView – it now supports zooming.
- Tomas Mikula has a post about combining ReactFX and asynchronous processing.
- Tom Eugelink has a post on Java 8 method references, in relation to his JavaFX CircularPane layout component.
- Felix Bembrick has a post on why he thinks JavaFX matters even more now that it is part of Java 8.
- Doug Schaefer has a tutorial outlining a simple approach to writing JavaFX Eclipse RCP applications.
- Thierry Wasyl has a post on building a JavaFX application with gradle.
- Jens Deters has posted about a feature in NetBeans 8: built-in support for Remote Java Standard Edition platform. He has included a number of videos to demonstrate the functionality.
- Sébastien Bordes has two posts this week. Firstly, he talks about revisiting the JavaFX builders API (which is deprecated in JavaFX 8.0). I need to take issue with his summary that builders are deprecated due to “size restriction to reach the mobility goal” – this is not correct at all. The openjfx-dev post he links to clearly says that they are being deprecated because we (unknowingly) relied on bugs in Java 6 and 7 that were fixed in Java 8, and there is no easy way to retain API compatibility. Secondly, he has announced that JRebirth Application Framework 7.7.1 has been released to fix a regression in 7.7.0.
- Mark Stephens has posted an update on his (commercial) PDF viewer library.
- Jeff Martin has blogged about the latest updates to SnapCode, his IDE and RAD tool for education, entertainment and the enterprise.
Keep up the great work – catch you all next week!
