ScenicView is just great !
I am using it to debug the SceneBuilder UI, it helped me to find very quickly some issues in a very complex scene graph 🙂
Jerome, I’m pleased you find Scenic View useful. Feel free to pass on feature requests here or in email to me – there are a bunch of improvements planned for Scenic View already, but I’m always on the look out for more ideas!
A very interesting feature would be that ScenicView persist its context when stopped.
When debugging/fixing a node, it is common to start/fix/restart your application many times. For a complex and deep scene graph, it is painful to reopen all the tree items to retrieve the node you want to watch. ScenicView size and divider position should also be persisted.
I also tried the ID filter, but it does not seem to work.
First of all thanks for using scenicview and giving us feedback. We will into account your suggestions, they seem easy to implement. About the ID filter it should work but it could be a bug. If it possible send us a mail with a description of how are you reproduce it. (anderruiz@yahoo.es). Thanks!!
I have two questions. I’m having trouble running the application scene view can someone help me? One could also spend a few things for me so I can learn javafx? I am new to programming and found it very nice javafx. using JavaFX 2.1 and Java runtime 7. Thank you, Awaiting the return.
The download seems to be corrupt. Can you upload a new jar file? Best regards, Steffen.
The download works fine from here. If you continue to have trouble downloading the file let me know and I will email it to you.
Oh, Chrome did something evil to the file. Now using Firefox everything works fine 🙂
I tried using Internet explorer. The java I have installed the JavaFX 2.1, and 7 javaruntime Can anyone help me, I tried to reinstall java. The following error appears no obvious main attribute. am new to java, I know I’m just now learning the basics and would like to begin by FX. The file is 577 Kb which will be corrupted? Thank you friends, awaiting answers.
This is what I get when laucnhing ScenicView 1.01: “no main manifest attribute, in ScenicView.jar”
Same problem here! 🙁
At present Scenic View isn’t an executable jar file, so this is why it doesn’t work for you. The next release will support this mode, so probably best to wait until then.
Same problem here!
How I’m I supposed to use this?
Do I have to guess where is the main method?
ScenicView 1.1 beta has been released. You can give it a try 😉
