We’ve hit October already! It is crazy how fast the years are racing by, which is why it is so important to take this moment to recognise the people doing contributions to Java on the client. Here’s the links of the week – enjoy 🙂

• Florian Brunner has an update on his Drombler JStore project. There are now REST services, and JAP packaging functionality.
• Pedro DV has blogged about an updated release of his fluent design style project JMetro, which brings support for ProgressBar styling.
• Andres Almiray has released updates to a number of projects to make them JavaFX 11 compatible.
• goxr3plus has open sourced XR3Converter, a “powerful JavaFX application for converting any audio to any audio and any video to any video or audio.”

JavaFX links of the week, September 24

• The big news from the last week is the release of JavaFX 11. Kevin Rushforth announced this on the openjfx-dev mailing list, and linked to the brand new OpenJFX.io site produced by Gluon. Speaking of Gluon, they also did a JavaFX 11 release announcement and mentioned the availability of the JavaFX long term support offering for companies seeking backports of fixes, etc.
• Jaxenter did an interview with four people from the Java / JavaFX community (myself included) about the release of JavaFX 11. The first part of the interview series is now online.
• Oshan Mendis has announced the release of CustomStage v1.3.2, with huge CPU usage optimizations and bug fixes.
• GoXr3plus Studio has published a tutorial and library for drawing audio amplitudes like in SoundCloud with JavaFX. They have also published an updated release of the open source XR3Player.

Apologies for the radio silence recently – travel makes keeping on top of my blogging duties a little bit more difficult. Here’s the latest links – enjoy! 🙂

• Dirk Lemmermann has open sourced the WorkbenchFX library, which was carried out by Marco Sanfratello and François Martin, students from the FHNW University in Switzerland.
• Dirk is also encouraging people interested in JavaFX to attend the JavaFX Days conference in Zurich in December. More details on the JavaFX days website.
• Pedro DV has two posts related to his fluent design work. Firstly, a post on button / toggle button / tooltip styling, and secondly, a post on text field and password field styling.
