However, I couldn't help but feel that it really needs a progress bar when it initially loads up. It feels a lot longer if you're never quite sure when it will finish loading, and Flash has had loading progress bars right from the begining. Otherwise you get frustrated, keep wondering when it's going to be finished, and you're looking at a Java logo the whole time. Not the best assocation you want your users to make. Nice to see Java FX being used for it’s main purpose.

I may not be the real target for it, even if I coded of lot of Flash. I've never used the authoring tool, always plain actionscript. But have you tried lately to upgrade your flash player ? My hope stands in the project jigsaw and the removal of all the boilerplate from the JRE. Anyway, I'm a Java guy, not a JavaFX Script guy. Sun is going to give me closures and the project lombok the rest I need. All I want is a new and clean component model, like we have in Flash. You have a point here.
